The weekend started off on a struggling note for Ugo. In the first qualifying session of the weekend he would be in group B and was only able to set a lap good enough for P8 in his group.
Ugochukwu started P18 after receiving a grid penalty but gained three positions on the first lap and had a quiet second half of the race, finishing P15 when all was said and done.
“Saturday was a bit tricky because qualifying was not the best, but we made some progress in the race although not enough to make it to the points. “

In cooler conditions compared to the previous day, the McLaren junior showed promising pace in a competitive qualifying session, posting the sixth best time in his group.
The second race of the round was held on a wet Sunday afternoon and Ugo would start P12.
Ugo avoided the chaos and showed incredible race pace, overtaking numerous cars to finish P5 in a race that had to end under safety car conditions.
“Sunday was better. We still had a tough qualy, but we managed to come through in the race in wet conditions. The pace was great so we managed to go from outside the top 10 all the way to P5, which are good points, so big thanks to the whole team.”
