UGOCHUKWU BACK TO WINNING WAYS IN DUBAI
The Dubai round of the Formula Regional Middle East Championship comes to an end with Ugo Ugochukwu scoring his first win of the 2025 season.
Starting third for race one, Ugo was able to jump to first by pulling off a daring overtake around the outside of turn one to take the lead of the race.
Despite a safety car period, which erased his gap to the following cars, Ugo was able to get a good restart and eventually take his first win of the year in dominant fashion.

“Super happy to get this win,” said Ugo during the post-race interview. “After Abu Dhabi I was feeling down, having a win get taken away so close to the end, but we came with the same pace here in Dubai, we had a good quali, P3 for both races and I knew from there we could fight.”
“Got a really good start, managed to get into the lead and from there the pace was really good and I managed to lead until the end.”
For race two’s grid, race one’s top 10 was reversed, meaning Ugo started P10.
From the fifth row on the grid, Ugo stayed out of trouble and took advantage of battles ahead to climb through the pack to finish P6 on track, later being promoted to P5 as post-race penalties came into effect.

In race three, Ugo started second and was able to remain unchallenged, despite two safety car periods that bunched up the field, to cap off the Dubai round with a second-place finish.
“I got a really good start, got side by side in turn one [with the leader], I thought I braked quite late but he braked even later and from there I didn’t get another chance to take the lead. Nevertheless, I think it’s been overall a pretty good weekend, of course I wanted to win but we made a lot of points. Looking forward to Abu Dhabi, hopefully we can keep this pace going and keep fighting for wins.”

Another successful weekend for Ugo Ugochukwu who aims to end the Formula Regional Middle East season ahead of his rookie season in Formula 3. Relive last weekend’s action on the FRMEC YouTube channel, and make sure not to miss the next round at Yas Marina on February 15-16!
