Ugo Ugochukwu secures second win of the season at Silverstone by record-breaking margin
The second half of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season started on a very positive note for Ugo Ugochukwu, who sealed his second win of the season grew his points tally into the triple digits.
Heading to Silverstone for the fifth round of the season, Ugo began the weekend by setting the seventh-fastest time in practice, before posting the 12th-best time in qualifying on Friday, earning him reverse-grid pole for Saturday’s Sprint race.
From pole, Ugo was on a league of his own, setting the fastest lap and leading all 18 laps to secure the sprint race win by just over 17 seconds, the biggest winning margin in modern F3 history.
In Sunday’s feature race, Ugo started 12th, but quickly moved up to ninth in the early stages before then making a superb move at Luffield corner to get up to seventh in brave fashion on lap 13. From there, Ugo kept his head cool to stay out of trouble and finish seventh on track, before being promoted to sixth just as he crossed the line due to another driver receiving a penalty.
However, that was not the end for the post-race chaos, as Ugo was later moved up to third in the final classification following post-race penalties being given to cars ahead of him, thus giving him his fifth podium of the season and third in a row.
A solid weekend for Ugo, who will be looking to extend his points lead in the next round of the FIA Formula 3 season at Spa, on 18-19 July.
