About me
UGO UGOCHUKWU
Ugo Ugochukwu is an American driver, born on April 23rd, 2007 in New York, USA.
Since the first days officially competing in the Micro ROK Cup USA back in 2014,
this young star shone bright, taking home his first American championship title,
revealing an exceptional talent and great charisma, which then led him to win
many more.
In fact, Ugo went on to conquer two additional titles in American championships
in 2014 and 2015, before moving overseas to compete in the European series,
and finish second in the Mini ROK Cup 2016 and the Mini 60 Italian Championship
2017. The latter wasn’t though the only success collected in 2017: Ugo was also
crowned Mini X30 IAME All Star Finals, and IAME International X30 Mini Cup
champion the same year.
In 2018, the rising star became vice-champion in the Junior ROK – Florida Winter
Tour and champion of the Junior ROK-Challenge of the Americas, before finishing
the year off with a second place in the Junior ROK Italian Championship.
COVID did not discourage the then 13-year-old whose hunger for success only
grew during the season spent away from the track.
In 2020, his talent, determination and stamina caught the eye of none other than
Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren F1 Racing Team, who signed the American to become
the first (and sole) member of the McLaren Junior driver program. He then
completed what could still be his best ever season, taking home a second place in
the OK Junior Champions of the Future Championship, as well as a the title in the
OK Junior FIA European Championship 2020.
Before moving to the single seaters in 2022, and driving for team Carlin Racing in
the British F4 Championship, Ugo put a solid end to his career in kart racing by
finishing second in the OK Senior WSK Euro Series in 2021.
