Ugo Ugochukwu maintains F3 points lead amid Monaco chaos

Following a near three-month break from action, Ugo Ugochukwu showed promising speed around the streets of Monte Carlo during the second round of the 2026 FIA F3 season to keep his points lead.

On his first visit to the street track, Ugo began the weekend with stellar pace, setting the third-best time in the only practice session of the weekend on Thursday, before posting the second-best time in his qualifying group the following day.

When both groups were combined to put together the grids for both races, Ugo had qualified fourth overall, which gave him a ninth-place starting position for Saturday’s sprint race, which featured a partially reversed grid.

On Saturday, Ugo stayed out of trouble at the start to gain two places to move himself up to seventh, which he kept as the checkered flag waved at the end of the race, but was later promoted to sixth when another driver was disqualified post race.

For the Feature race, Ugo had a similar showing, maintaining his grid position and strong pace to finish just outside of the podium in fourth, allowing him to maintain his points lead after two rounds.

A clean and strong weekend for Ugo, who aims to continue his strong form into the next round of the FIA Formula 3 season in Barcelona, on 6-7 June.
