Ugo Ugochukwu holds on to F3 points lead at Barcelona

At the third round of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship at Barcelona, Ugo Ugochukwu once again demonstrated blistering pace, taking silverware home as he maintained his points lead over the rest of the field.

Picking up from where he left off, Ugo set the second-fastest time in the weekend’s sole Practice session on Friday. In qualifying, held later that day, Ugo maintained his speed as he posted the second-best time to put himself on the front row for Sunday’s Feature Race.

In the partially-reversed grid Sprint Race on Saturday, Ugo started 11th and climbed his way up to seventh in the early stages, as well as setting the fastest lap. However, while fighting for sixth, an incident took Ugo out of the race in the closing stages.

The following day, Ugo slipped to third at the start, but kept a close eye on the leading pair and stayed there for most of the race. Despite momentarily falling to fourth in the closing stages, Ugo wasted no time to get back to third, where he would finish the weekend, as he maintained his points lead.

A promising but difficult weekend for Ugo, who aims to extend his points lead in the next round of the FIA Formula 3 season at the Red Bull Ring, on 27-28 June.
